I wanted a clean and simple way to mount my BIQU H2 direct drive extruder that kept the stock blower fan, had the BLTouch close to the nozzle, and was compact. This is a complete kit which also includes a filler plate for the original extruder location and a filament guide. This mount is compatible with the shorter silicone bed leveling columns. Updates ------- • 2021.12.21: Updated the fan duct. Eliminated the upper mounting holes as they were not needed, made it shorter to keep it further away from the heater block, and gave it some more height adjustability. • 2021.12.29: Updated the BLTouch mount to allow better airflow to the heatsink fan. Also added an extended filament guide for use when using an inline filament runout sensor. Firmware Notes -------------- My config below keeps a safe border around the left and front edges of the bed, but there is room to push the nozzle out further if need be. • Klipper [stepper_y] position_endstop: 245 # moves y 0 position to keep nozzle from traveling too far forward off bed. position_max: 245 ... Ender 6 Mount: • (3) M3x10mm socket cap screws BIQU H2: • (4) M3x8mm socket cap screws • (1) M3x16mm socket cap screw ADXL345 Accelerometer • (2) M3x8mm socket cap screws • (2) M3 nuts Fan Duct: • (2) M3x6mm socket cap screws BLTouch Mount: • (2) M3x18mm socket cap screws BLTouch: • (2) M3x8mm socket cap screws • (2) M3 nuts Extruder Filler • PC4-M10 push fitting Filament Guide: • (1) M3x10mm socket cap screw • (1) M3 t-slot nut Versions ----------- • There are two Ender 6 mounts; one with and one without the ADXL345 accelerometer mount. • There are two filament guides; the regular on and an extended one for use with an inline filament runout sensor like the BTT Smart Filament Sensor or the Creality CR-6 SE optical sensor (pictured above). You can find my case for that sensor at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5179620. • There are two Fan Ducts; one with built-in supports (inside mounting holes) and one without. • There are two Extruder Fillers; one with built-in supports (under filler plate and inside mounting holes) and one without. If using the built in supports version, remove the bottom hole support first using a using a small screwdriver or hex key through the hole in the middle of the top hole support, then remove the top hole support. Printing Notes ------------------- • Increase the number of walls to make the two towers the BIQU H2 mounts to stronger. I used 5 when I printed mine. • Print the fan duct at .2 and use adaptive layers for the best success. • The fan duct should be printed in ASA since it sits close to the heat block. The other parts can be printed in ABS or PETG. Installation Notes ----------------------- • This is very precise and will be a tight fit pressing onto the gantry plate. If your print has a large elephant's foot, you may need to file the opening that slips over the two original heat sink mounts. • The BIQU H2 mounts on the top and bottom, but there's also an additional hole to mount an optional M3x16mm socket cap screw from behind. • Replace the two screws holding the hotend fan in place with (2) M3x18mm socket cap screws to attach the BLTouch mount. • Made sure the BLTouch wires are are sitting flush in the mount and are not touching the fan. • Wires are secured at the top right corner using two zip ties. Make sure none of the wires interfere with the limit switch. • Re-use the stock bolts for the extruder filler • Run your reverse Bowden tube through the filament guide to the PC4-M10 push fitting on the extruder filler.
