Ender 5 Z-Stepper Motor Step Down Spacer for Thrust Bearing
thingiverse
This is a simple step-down spacer that allows you to use a 9x20x7mm thrust bearing to relieve the z-stepper motor's rotor from the weight of the bed. The use of a thrust bearing redirects the axial load onto the faceplate of the stepper motor, and helps to remove the vertical slop of the z-carriage that is introduced by the stepper motor's end float. In theory, this should also improve the reliability of the stepper motor. It's also worth noting that the large coupler I'm using makes this thrust bearing seem undersized, but it actually has the same outer diameter as the stock coupler and should be more than fine for this application.
