Ender 5 z-axis pillow block
thingiverse
This is a passively attached pillow / bearing / plummer block for the z-axis of the Ender 5 Pro. Will probably fit other similarly fastened z-axis designs, but I don't have another printer to try it on. It's currently a slight compression fit sliding over the top of the existing mounting plate screws. The compression fit is entirely due to the slightest elephant foot effect of the first layer(s). Not ideal (would be better with long fasteners going through the body of the block, through the existing plate mount, and into the stepper - but it's working so far. I figure it's unlikely to get jostled off the screw heads (being weighted down by the gantry) and there's currently so side to side slop. You may need to tweak your print size to get it perfect. I'd recommend printing the first 3-5 mm first to see how the recesses for the screw heads fit before committing to the entire print. This design (Rev_0) currently robs you of about 13mm of z-axis travel. I will try to get around this design in the future, but I'm not in a rush currently, as I haven't printed to the max height of this printer yet. Other hardware I'm using: 1 qty flanged 8x22x7 mm bearing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SLZG7YV/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_P839CMPXTAW1N89TMJA1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 1 qty 8mm bore drill stop https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KWSW323/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_AMW8ZHMQBK1VDW9MH9X7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 1 qty 5mm to 8mm flexible coupling https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06X99T42R/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_EJ3WSKCJXG5VRBRS6381?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I probably ought to get something around the lead screw as well to help it fit more concentric to the bore stop, but I haven't done anything yet. Even electrical tape might be good enough for this.
