Ender 5 X Stepper Cover with Wire Anchors
thingiverse
This is a simple replacement for the Ender 5's X stepper cover using stock screws. It adds two spots for zip ties to aid cable management. This also prevents the wire harness from snagging on the outside of the X axis during long prints (as it is prone to sagging from heating). This is a particularly handy mod for printers on direct drive where the Bowden tube no longer provides support to the wire harness. I use wire wrap with a length of PTFE tube running with the wires for added rigidity. **Installation** 1. Remove the X stepper cover sticker. 2. Unscrew three of the screws. 3. Use one hand to hold the X stepper in place while you remove the fourth screw. 4. Position the new cover and insert one screw just enough to grab the stepper. 5. Partly thread in a second screw on the opposite side of the stepper. 6. Let go of the stepper and finish inserting and tightening the four screws.
