<h2>Ender 5 Upgrade - Direct Drive - BMG</h2> After upgrading the retraction distance has been reduced to an impressive 0.2mm. <h3>1. Essential Stock Parts Used:</h3> 1.1 - Two 40mm fans were utilized. <h3>2. Printed Items:</h3> The Ender 5 remix of Hero Plus ver6 OEM & MicroSwiss was printed, sourced from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3975575. <h3>3. New Components Acquired:</h3> 3.1 - A Direct Drive plate for BMG dual gear was purchased, designed specifically for the Ender 5 3D printer. This part can also be printed by users. 3.2 - The Trianglelab BMG extruder cloned version was obtained. 3.3 - A very light 0.9 Degree Nema 17 Stepper Motor measuring 42x42x20mm was sourced, boasting an E-step of 830steps/mm. The stock stepper motor is deemed too heavy for Direct Drive applications by many experts. 3.4 - A heat sink designed for the 42 stepper motor was acquired. 3.5 - Various 3mm screws were purchased (a comprehensive list will be provided later). 3.6 - The Swiss CR10 Hotend from Trianglelab was obtained, compatible with the stock hotend on the Hero Plus ver6 funduct. <img src="https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/e6/cf/54/d4/ab/featured_preview_IMG_20191202_190314.jpg" width="600" alt="Ender 5 - Direct Drive - BMG" title="Ender 5 - Direct Drive - BMG" />
