Human: NOTE: October 16, 2020, released version 3C of the filament cover and top (2 x small prints) to further reduce grinding noise caused by filament rubbing against the top and opening of the cover. September 29, 2020. Version 3b of the filament runout guide was released (photos of guide in black PLA). Due to space constraints between the filament roll and extruder, the guide was redesigned to mount vertically so that the microswitch trigger sits flat. The top lid attaches with a screw to swivel open, allowing for easier access to the filament. Requires 1 x M3 8mm or 1 x M3 12mm and nut. It is recommended to bend a slight curve downwards on the end of the microswitch trigger. NOTE: July 24, 2020. Version 2 was released. The main holder remains the same as V1, but it has additional support to attach a fixing (screw and T nut) on the rear horizontal bar for added strength, and no longer includes an oval-shaped filament guide. The V2 design features a modular design with attachment holes where you can optionally print and choose to attach either: - An open filament guide - A closed loop guide - A filament run-out guide To add the desired attachment, press the tab end into the hole on top of the holder first, then press down to clip the bottom tab in. In my case, the Ender 5 sits on the right side of my computer desk, and the standard spool mount takes up quite a bit of space to the right of the Ender 5 frame. This spool holder sits much higher and out of the way but is still convenient to reach specifically if you have a small desktop footprint.
