Ender 5 top bar
thingiverse
This is a premium structure designed specifically for the Creality Ender-5 printer. I engineered it to bring the extruder as close as possible to the hotend, reducing the bowden tube length to less than 30cm, including the inner part of the hotend. This setup minimizes retraction and enhances filament flow. The structure features screw holes that are 4mm in diameter, requiring M4 screws for mounting. Installing it with four legs is highly recommended, but three legs will also provide stability, allowing you to add a fourth leg later if needed. To attach the structure to the 2020 profile, use four M4 allen screws with T-Nuts or four M3 allen screws with washers and T-Nuts. Keep in mind that using M4 screws may require some hole trimming. Attaching the structure will necessitate a small traditional allen wrench due to the 60-degree turns required. The bars are designed with multiple screw holes, giving you flexibility to position the extruder anywhere, manage cables, or hold other accessories. However, be aware that some supports might be necessary for the arm's screw holes; add them manually or block supports in the remaining areas to avoid excessive support generation. Due to the original stepper cable being too short, an extension cable will be required. For optimal results, place quality components anywhere, but I recommend positioning the extruder below the structure as shown in the first picture, rather than centering it on top like in the second image. This setup allows for complete bowden tube rotation and play, reducing stress on cheap bowden connectors like those that come with the printer.
