Ender 5 PSU mount mod skr E3 Turbo
thingiverse
I got myself an upgrade for my Ender 5 pro, i didnt realise at the time of ordering, that it wouldnt fit, the power supply would be in the way. So i tried those that are already on this site, and non of them really worked, the main problem was that the power socket was in the way and i didnt want to bent the connection on the psu at 90 degrees, as we know that they dont like many bends before the connector breaks. So with a lot of thought, should i go for mounting the psu outside, or the board. So i went for an alternative and designed this little thing, that does the job very nicely. I decided that i would do away with the bottom cover of the unit, this would allow full airflow to the power supply and that mean i could position the psu where it was best. I will add a mount to fit a cooling fan to the board. This also meant that if i missed the card slot i didnt have to take the boittom off to retrieve the card. This also allowed me to use the existing holes and screws. So the bolts connecting to the psu were standard 8mm M4 cap head, the nuts are stanard m4 ones. What i did notice is that i found it easier if the nuts were tightened in before fitted, in other words screw the bolt into the m4 nut until you are happy it is in enough. To line up the mounts to the case, use some long m4 bolts, because it was downright impssible to lineup using the original ones. Once lined up and you possition the psu where you want it, you can replace each bold with the original. Printing: Nothing special, no supports. It took about 10 mins on my ender 2.
