Summary ======= This is an electronics conversion kit for the Ender 5 Plus that allows you to upgrade to a SKR 1.3/1.4/Turbo board, along with a compact side-mounted Raspberry Pi 4b. The electronics box is mounted inside the back-right vertical 2040 extrusion, while the Meanwell PSU is secured on the inside of the back-left vertical 2040 extrusion. The power socket and switch are attached to the bottom 2020 extrusion in the rear. Electronics Enclosure ================ This enclosure fits: * SKR 1.3/1.4/Turbo board * Raspberry Pi 4b * LM2596 DC-DC stepdown converters for 24v to 12v/5v conversion * Creality Bed Heater MOSFET Board (old design) * TH3D Mosfet Board (new design) * RossPeter.org Raspberry Pi to SKR Adapter Board * 4010 Axial Fans for the SKR and the Pi * 5015 Blower Fan for stepper driver cooling with an air duct built in to the lid Meanwell PSU ============ The Meanwell PSU can be reused, but it's recommended to create new wiring using appropriate connectors. Female Insulated Fork Terminals are suitable for Power Supply ends, while female Insulated Spade Terminals are ideal for power socket and switch ends. Power Wiring ========== New wiring is recommended instead of reusing the existing wires. Use insulated ferrules for 24V DC connections to the SKR board. Never use wire without terminals or ferrules as it's a fire hazard. Update 7/31/2020 ----------------- The case design has been updated with new features: * Sharp corners have been replaced with rounded edges for improved bed adhesion. * 2 x 40mm fan holes on the top have been modified to accept M3 screws, allowing the common 4010 fans to be attached outside of the case. A notch was added to pass the fan wires through. * The top has been hinged with M3 screw holes for easy access. * The front closure mechanism has been replaced with a 5mm hole for a M5 screw to secure the top and bottom cases together. Update 8/9/2020 ----------------- The original case bottom design has been renamed "Ender 5 Plus Case Bottom - Creality Mosfet" to indicate it's designed for mounting a Creality Mosfet board. A new version of the case bottom and top have been created, specifically designed around a TH3D Mosfet board: * The 4010 Fan has been relocated from over the Pi to over the Mosfet. * Cooling holes have been added above the Pi's side ports. * Power Input slot near the SKR's 12/24v input has been widened/made taller. * A hole in the cover has been made to fit the RossPeter.org Pi to SKR Adapter board. Update 8/23/2020 ----------------- A new version of the case bottom was added, designed for a Raspberry Pi 3/3B+ instead of a Pi 4b.
