Ender 5 Plus Feet-Offset
thingiverse
I created a quick and easy Ender 5 Plus feet-offset that lets me use bigger Z Stepper motors. The stock stepper motors in my opinion are completely under-powered, resulting in unnecessary noise. With a Duet Wifi @256, the stock ones are at least double as loud as the big steppers! Since the big Z-steppers aren't moved by weight, this should be an easy decision. I used the ~45 mm Z stepper motors from my old Wanhao Duplicator i3 v2.1 along with the dampeners. Under the bigger stepper motor with dampeners, there's still more clearance than under the stock Ender 5 Plus steppers without this feet-offset. This simple mod - if it even deserves to be called that - is probably a perfect addition to Daede's "Ender 5 Plus 120mm Fan Control Box Cover." The Clearance under the control box is ~38mm with this feet-offsets, so when using 25mm Fans there's still enough clearance for airflow. When I also use furniture gliders, the vibrations that the printer transmits to the thing it's sitting on should decrease further. Maybe I'll make a Silicone mold out of this design. If you'd like that, comment below. UPDATE: I made an 10mm higher and wider version because my Noctua NF-A12 on the control box needs more room to get air. ~13mm clearance (with the 22mm file) is not enough. If you only want higher Stepper motors than the smaller one is fine. Also, both are now correctly oriented.
