My friend was getting higher stepper temps. because there is no aluminum plate to dissipate heat. this allows a 40mm fan to pass air on 2 sides of the stepper motor to dissipate more heat and prolong motor life. I included a version you can use two 3mm screws to mount to the model this is a remake of. There will be less exposed surfaces with the bolt on.
