Reworking the dial gauge mount for my Ender 5, I had to modify Chuck Hellebuyck's Chep bed leveling code from the Ender 3 to get it lined up properly and added speed commands because it would sometimes slow down unnecessarily. I highly recommend printing this at 101% as Romeoknight suggested. The results are remarkably accurate, but installation and removal can be a challenge. Each time I try to print, the jarring of the print head makes me worry that all my hard work is being ruined, although you might be reading this after the fact like I did. Mastering bed leveling with the dial gauge remains an elusive goal for me. By the time I get it dialed in, the distance between the paper and the dial indicator is far from where I started. My Ender 5 springs and polyurethane slugs either end up too far apart or too close together to achieve any consistency when the springs are not locked tight in the rear of the bed or the slugs have no tension at the front. I will eventually figure out a reliable way to level my bed with the dial gauge. In the meantime, I'll keep trying until I get it right. EDIT: I also incorporated a filament spool clip designed by Countspatula that helps me hold the dial indicator out of the way while adjusting the bed gap with paper.
