Ender 5 MKS Gen L - mini mount

I simply took the great MKS Gen L mounting bracket and gave it a basic remix for my Ender 5.\r\n\r\nI wanted to keep the original metal chassis intact without \r\n- cutting a hole for the USB port\r\n- restricting cable routing to the LCD panel hole\r\n\r\nSo, I flipped the mainboard 180 degrees and mounted it with the stepper motor driver side facing outward, the USB port pointing towards the power supply.\r\n\r\nTo gain some extra room, I cut off the assembly for the two mounts on the side closest to the power supply, then nudged the board slightly over.\r\n\r\nThe mount should hold just fine with the central mounting studs, but just to be sure, I also used a large washer and the bolt to pin the assembly on the side (the pictures explain it better than words).\r\n\r\nI used the original fixings to mount the assembly, then brass standoffs to mount the MKS on top with an air gap. Doing so raises the board somewhat, and if you have large heatsinks on your stepper drivers like I do, there may not be enough clearance to fit the original metal panel back on. For my machine, I've mounted the whole assembly on the side of the printer and therefore have plenty of room to attach a custom panel with cutouts and mounted cooling fans.\r\n\r\nCAUTION: fitting the MKS Gen L with upgraded steppers may require upgraded cooling or risk damage to your board, or possibly fire. Please take appropriate precautions! There are many guides available for help with solving the increase in heat.
