This is a replacement for the stock fan shroud when using the Micro Swiss Ender 5 Direct Drive kit. It allows use of a 40x20mm main fan and two 50x15mm part cooling fans, and a BL Touch. * **Easy to print** - No supports, each piece prints in 2hrs, estimated <5hr total print for finished design. * **Easy assembly** - minimal hidden screws/nuts, tight fitting slots so they don't fall out while you're working on it. * **Easy maintenance** - Access/replace hotend by removing one fan. * **Lightweight** - minimal hardware and plastic, keep weight close to the carriage * **Maximize print area** - no loss on X axis, small (approx 10mm) on Y axis * **Secure** - no rattling fans, everything is solidly mounted, extruder and hotend mount metal-to-metal. ***Important*** --- Print the main brackets with the part that touches the gantry facing down (see the picture from cura in red). It works best if you route your heater cartridge and thermistor behind the fan, insert the thermistor from the right side, as usual, but insert the heater cartridge from the left side, where there's more room for the cables to fit. Bill of Materials --- Fans * 40x20mm Axial Fan - Noctua makes 5v and 12v ones, be sure to connect to the correct voltage source (the stock Ender 5 fan is 24v, don't use those connectors!) * 50x15mm Blower Fan x 2 - I use the some Dual Bearing Low RPM/Quiet ones from amazon, be sure to get ones that match your machine's voltage--24v for Ender 5 Hardware * 4020 Fan - M3x20 Socket Head x 4 - M3 Nut x 4 * 5015 Fans - M4x20 x 2 (Top) - M4x22 x 2 (Bottom) - can substitute with M4x25 with washers or printed 2.5mm spacer - M4 Nut x 4 * Bracket Mounts - M3x6 or M3x8 x 4 Progress Notes --- What's Done - Main mounting brackets - Clearance for carriage bolts - Clearance for belts - Mounting screw slots/chamfers - 4020 Fan mount - 5015 Fan mount / wire guide - Right side fan duct - Left side fan duct What's Not Done --- - It would be nice to have some Cable Management - I haven't tried https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4187151 but I believe it would work with this.
