Ender 5 Extruder Arm
thingiverse
Creality Ender 5 extruder arm. This device repositions the extruder, allowing for a drastic shortening of the Bowden tube. By doing so, you can significantly reduce the retraction value and eliminate stringing problems. The printer is secured with the original extruder attached to the device using two wood type screws with flat heads: - Maximum screw depth is 30 mm. - Screw diameter ranges from 3.0 mm to 4.5 mm. Note that a stepper motor extension cable may be necessary depending on the length of your original cable, as some users have reported theirs was slightly too short. You can view more information about this device in the video at https://youtu.be/fw0F5xMOXsE. There are two possible setups for filament feeding visible in the pictures: - Using the original spool mount attached to the top of the frame, facing backwards. - Utilizing a Bowden tube linked to a dry filament box: - An additional Bowden connector is required. - A hole needs to be drilled into the extruder to screw the connector in place. EDIT1: - Screw holes start at the bottom for easier infill and slicing. - Screw depth is no longer limited. - STL definition has been increased for a smoother surface without triangles. - The wiring hook gap has been reduced to prevent wire escape. EDIT2: SLyExtruderArm5.stl - Base thickness has been reduced. EDIT3: SLyExtruderArm6.stl - Convection cooling slots have been added to improve motor heat dissipation.
