Ender 5+ Direct Drive
thingiverse
I designed this due to my dislike of the box fan enclosure that comes with the printer. The parts cooling fan, hotend cooling fan, and BLTouch are all mounted by 2 screws. The metal plates are so thin that they can only fit a thread or two for these screws to grip, and they are in such tight areas that it is easy to strip them. After almost a year the box on mine has warped to the point that it causes my hotend cooling fan to bind, resulting in severe clogs. This design is set up to keep your BLTouch, hotend cooling fan, and parts cooling fan separate so that you only have to remove the part you need to work on. With this design you will also be able to switch between a 10mm thick and a 20mm thick fan (or bigger) by changing to longer screws instead of printing a dozen different mounts. For the parts cooling fan I have it set up to use the 5015 blower fans (dimensions pictured above, just the cheap ones on eBay). This design is set up to work with the aluminum dual gear extruders only, in order to use a standard aluminum extruder you would need to print a spacer the appropriate size for your application and get longer screws for the extruder. The spacer file included is 10mm thick, scale down the height to get what you need. The hotend mounts and fan mounts are set up to use M3-0.5 threaded heat set inserts, you will need 6 for each mount you print. The BLTouch is set up for the Geetech model with metal probe, but may work with the plastic probe style. ******This unit is not yet tested******
