Newer Ender 5s are shipping with a slightly different stock cooling fan, which boasts tabs for the screw holes that extend all the way to the back of the fan. This is significant because the model was designed to accommodate thinner screw tabs, so check your cooling fan's screw holes before printing as you may have to use meshmixer (or whatever) to extend the channel slot and accept fans with thicker screw "tabs". Direct drive combines with Petsfang for optimized cooling, and an optional drag chain, BL touch, both, or just the Petsfang bullseye. Stock fans/hardware are used beside additional 4 twelve-millimeter M3 bolts to mount the stepper to the thicker stepper mount. You'll need to source a longer stepper cable - they're dirt cheap on Amazon. This has been fixed. Print right side up with your choice of support, and I personally like tree support w/chunk or zig-zag with 5% support density.
