Ender 5 BLtouch relocation mod
thingiverse
Human: Allows to relocate the BLtouch from the print head to the frame. Advantages: + Eliminates inconsistencies of the BLtouch when your printbed is sticky (after resurfacing my printbed, I got a +/- 0.15 mm spread). + Continuous z-adjustments on a wide range of 8.5 mm + No more reliance on digitally storing your z-axis offset (e.g. the autoleveling value is erased if you cut the power for a few minutes) -> with this mod: no power, no problem! + Makes the printhead ~35 grams lighter - less wear and lower energy consumption + Compatible with my linear rails mod: Features you lose: - Compensation of a warped printbed (I never needed it) - Leveling your printbed via the menu (I do that by just checking the first layer and never had problems) Parts needed [mm]: The BLtouch, obviously 1x Coil spring 25x7x0.5 1x M4x30 (I used a lens head) 1x M4 nut 2x M3x8 (or at least M3x4) 1x M4x10 1x M4 T-nut for 20 mm profile
