Ender - 4 Heat Bed Supports + Strain Relief
thingiverse
I have carefully designed these bed supports to alleviate the wobble and sag that is inherent with the Ender 4. I have added a strain relief for the bed wires which clips onto the support frame. You will need to massage the wires slightly to get them to sit properly. Note: The left-hand and right-hand sides of the supports have different knob screw alignments. To print these supports, you will need to print each one individually on a 45-degree angle to fit it on the bed. (Please refer to the pictures for orientation and supports used.) I printed five top layers, five bottom layers, and six outline layers. My primary goal was to create something that is functional, printable, easy to install, and visually appealing. All you need are four cable ties and installation takes only minutes. I highly recommend using the cable ties as this will provide the best possible rigidity with these supports. The clamps fit very tightly on the bearing guides, so I suggest clipping on only the top half or less of the bearing then sliding it up at the same time as aligning the screw holes. It can be a bit tricky but it should fit well. At least it did on my machine. I have included an F360 file if you need to make any adjustments. You might notice that when the support is up against the bed, it does not sit flat. This is because I have offset the clamp slightly to transfer some upward pressure at the front end of the support. When reinstalling the bed level knobs, be sure to tighten them all the way to completely compress the springs then relevel the bed from there loosening off as little as possible. You don't want your knobs coming loose during a print. Note: I have noticed that when you relevel the bed and loosen the knobs, sometimes the spring does not decompress because the screw threads get caught on the support. You may need to wiggle the screw so it releases. Alternatively, you could upgrade your bed springs and replace with longer screws but I don't think it's necessary. With these supports installed now, I believe there may be a little flex between the bearing guide and the metal rod. Ultimately, a second z-axis screw, motor, and guides would be ideal.
