Ender 3V2 Noctua 4020 fan mount This is a little design based on the stock Ender 3 V2 hotend cover. I dont think it will work for other Ender 3 models due to the carrier plate, but didn't tested. I needed to make my Ender more silent so switched to various bigger Noctua fans for the PSU and motherboard. The noised lowered, but the hotend fan still makes a lot of noise so I decided to replace it using a silent Noctua fan. Noctua fans are silent but their flowrate is quite small too so the 4010 Noctua wasn't enough for me due to its low flowrate. I choosed a Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX wich is bigger than the stock one but it is also 12V so I still needed a buck converter. Since my motherboard has a 12V 8025 Noctua connected to a buck converter in the hotend power pins (always on) I decided to connect both (mainboard and hottend fans) to the same buck converter. I like the stock part cooling fan and did't want to change it, but had a hard time looking for compatible mods so I decided to customize the stock cover to house a bigger hotend fan while maintaining the position, part cooling fan, aspect and size (more or less) of the cover I removed the stands for the stock fan and screw it directly to the case with the screws supplied with the Noctua fan. Thats why the holes are so big. You can use smaller screws, but I didn't worry about that. You should use three M3 threaded inserts for better assembly, each has its own socket in the mount. One of them is a bit smaller to avoid collision with the fan, but a M3 insert fits just right. The assembly is like the stock one, with the same part cooling duct, fan and screws (2xM3) and another M3 screw to the X-carriage. I dont like fan grills so there are just circular holes for the fans. You can get metal grids from Amazon or even print your own, but I'd rather leave total freedom to air flow and avoid extra noises. About heatcreep: many people, even me, fear suffering heatcreep specially during long prints due to the low air flow of Noctua fans. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I raised the fan voltage to 14Volts increasing the flow a lot. Fans may wear sooner but I think their manufacturing quality can handle that. I'm pretty sure I will change the fan before it even suffers for this overvoltage. Do this at your own risk, you would be using the fan above its recommended nominal settings so lots of nasty things could happen.
