Ender 3 Z motor mount

11/8/19 - I set up the parts for printing and uploaded files. 10/14/18 - I added files for a mount without a logo on it as well as a mirrored file for dual Z motors. I designed a Z stepper mount because the spacers were too weak. She rides smooth now! It allows you to mount the Z stepper down on the bottom extrusion instead of up in the air with the stock mount. It also keeps the stepper from being tilted by only being mounted on one side. On top of that, you can slide the stepper forward and backward to properly align it with the Z rod. + Use a wood block or something to hold the X gantry up off the bed. + Loosen the top half of the coupler so the Z rod can be lifted out. + Move the stepper until you can freely twist the Z rod to the bottom of the coupler with no binding. + Tighten mount in place. Make sure you hold down on the stepper so it's flat on the printer's frame. Hardware: 4 - M3x10mm screws 3 - M4x8mm screws 3 - M4 T-nuts Helpful Tips: ALL filament shrinks after cooling. The amount of shrinkage depends on the type of filament. PLA shrinks about 0.25% PetG shrinks around 0.35% Taulman 910 shrinks 0.31% That means a PLA part printed at 200mm long will be short by 0.5mm. I scale all my stuff in the slicer to 100.25% to compensate for most shrinkage. Measure for yourself if you don't believe me! Humid air is actually lighter than dry air, so it's best to have the dessicant at the top of a container you want to keep dry. Check out my designs for a dry box you can make.
