Ender 3 Z-Axis Spacer
thingiverse
This print is specifically designed for larger prints where cables heading to the extruder and bowden tube can easily obstruct the top aluminum bar, but doesn't impact smaller prints at all. I attached it to the vertical bars using the same screws that originally held them to the machine's top. To secure the top aluminum bar to the spacers, I used four identical screws along with four matching 5 mm diameter nuts to keep everything firmly in place. Since I only printed the parts with three perimeters and they still proved to be plenty strong, you can opt for more if you feel it might not hold up well. What's more, there are no threads modeled into the holes because the nuts will provide sufficient holding power.
