Ender 3 Y Limit Switch Bumper
thingiverse
This device is designed to transfer the responsibility of actuating the Y Limit switch on the Ender 3 (and other similar printers) from the V-Wheel to a specialized part that will bend as needed while consistently triggering the limit switch. This unit is relatively compact, and it's the initial revision. I printed this component using Priline TPU, which has a bit more rigidity than other TPUs, to provide some flexibility compared to ABS or PLA, but I assume that a stiff plastic would function just fine as well. The legs on this device should not be connected at the top. After my print was finished, I cut them apart with a razor so that the rear leg could support and bend along with the actuator arm. The foot is simply attached to the bottom of the Y carriage using a small piece of double-sided 3M sign tape. Since this part moves the actuation point toward the rear of the build surface, this device should address the problem of the Ender homing off the build surface only on the Y axis with the stock Y Limit switch mount. I have not tested that configuration, since I had already printed the adjustable Y switch mount. One note on printing: rotate it in your slicer so it prints like in the pictures.
