ENDER 3 Y-AXIS DUAL RAIL MOD

2019/07/10 UPDATE! After 7 months of printing non-stop, I can confidently say that this device is rock-solid and will last for quite a while, depending on the type of filament used. Check out the attached video to see it in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1LsBrMhyzQ I'm listing this as a work in progress because I haven't done any rigorous testing to prove its stability and strength. However, my analysis suggests that it will be just fine - after conducting a stress test, everything checked out perfectly, which is why I decided to share this mod. Please note that this device completely replaces the y-plate bracket. Is this necessary? Absolutely not! Sticking with the stock v-wheels or opting for the single rail setup will get you by just fine. The only benefit you'll gain from doing this correctly is a minimal loss of z-height compared to the single rail mod (around 5mm). You'll also enjoy a solid base and a driving force that remains centered on the bed, unlike with the single rail setup where it's shifted slightly towards the right side. Additional parts required: 2 x 300mm MGN12H rails M3x10mm x 10 + t-nuts (for mounting the rails to the y-frame - I used only 5 on each side) M3x12mm x4 (for mounting the new y-bracket plate to the rail block) M4x16mm x2 + t-nuts (for mounting the y-switch bracket on the y-aluminum frame) Check out this reference video for more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMvF-OmwD34
