Ender 3 Y-Axis Belt Tensioner Remix
thingiverse
UPDATE 6/14/2019: I no longer recommend this design due to its tendency to break at the mounting point. Returning to the stock tensioner resolved issues with Y-axis layer shifting caused by the broken mount. I'm leaving this here for anyone who might still find it useful, but there are superior designs available. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The belt tensioner by anubis86 impressed me, yet the bed collided with the bracket when it moved forward, reducing print area. Removing top mounting screws and modifying the bracket to attach only to the bottom rail using MakeChetti's design as inspiration allowed for full bed travel without interference. The slider and knob remain unchanged from the original anubis86 designs, which can be found here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3074280 along with the X axis tensioner. This design utilizes original mounting hardware and 1 M3x20 screw and 1 M3 nut for the knob. Tools needed: 3mm allen wrench, 5mm allen wrench, 13mm socket or wrench. An installation video is available here https://youtu.be/D2BWfk8LC9s. UPDATE 12/15/2018: A mistake in the STL file was pointed out to me. User rafb repaired the file and shared it with us, allowing everyone to benefit from his work. Thank you, rafb! The repaired STL is now available in the files section as Y_tensioner_remake_cleaned.stl.
