Ender 3 X-Gantry Octoprint Monitor Rev. 2
thingiverse
I can't believe it's been a year since uploading the first X gantry Octoprint cover. Initially this design was started as an alternative option that would still allow someone to mount an Octoprint camera to the X gantry cover. Needless to say I was never happy with the first few drafts and as a novice with Fusion (still am whoop) it caused some frustration. After taking a break from 3D printing, and an interesting 2020, I finally picked up the motivation to finish the design. The base of this model was started from the X Gantry cover from the Ender 3 CAD files offered by Creality so a big thanks to them for providing the files as it saved me quite some time. All parts are orientated for printing, no supports needed & I tried to keep everything with a "pushfit" assembly in mind to eliminate any need for additional screws etc. Some notes: I was testing the prints with some bad PLA (my bad) so the tolerances for the Wemos slot may be a bit loose, try use some hot glue or something if it bothers you. Try to be very gentle when installing the OLED in it's cover, the glass for the screen is quite fragile and I've noticed it's a bit misaligned on some of mine so be cautious and try not to force it. The following additional hardware is required: [Wemos D1 Mini v3](https://www.banggood.com/Geekcreit-D1-Mini-V3_0_0-WIFI-Internet-Of-Things-Development-Board-Based-ESP8266-4MB-MicroPython-Nodemcu-p-1264245.html) (v2.2 should also work, fit may be more loose than a v3 though) [0.96" i2c OLED](https://www.banggood.com/Geekcreit-0_96-Inch-4Pin-White-IIC-I2C-OLED-Display-Module-12864-LED-Geekcreit-for-Arduino-products-that-work-with-official-Arduino-boards-p-958196.html) (this is the specific one I used for the project, others may work but I've noticed some have a differently shaped board which may cause issue) [30AWG Wire Wrapping Cable](https://www.banggood.com/DANIU-250M-8-Wire-Colored-Insulated-PN-B-30-1000-30AWG-Wire-Wrapping-Cable-Wrap-Reel-p-1081298.html) (you could get away with other cables to solder the OLED to the Wemos, this is what I used however and was easy to run the cables) As with the previous project credit to Qrome for hisOctoPrint 3D Printer Monitor code which this project will rely on, be sure to check out his [Github](https://github.com/Qrome/printer-monitor) for the code & build instructions.
