Ender-3 X-End stop Cover
thingiverse
Here is another project I am actively working on right now. One example of what I'm creating involves printing the cover in black and the insert in a clear, vibrant red. If you prefer, you can print it in other colors that catch your eye. I've already successfully printed this modification and it fits perfectly on my Ender 3. To enhance the visual experience, I purchased some LEDs from Amazon, which, although not extremely bright initially, have been fine-tuned to provide a decent level of illumination. However, they did require running a separate ground wire because the switch only comes with two wires - no ground connection is present. To overcome this limitation, I plan to install the LEDs across the X end stop switch from the ground and S contact pin (not the V contact pin). When the switch closes, it will apply voltage to the LEDs, causing them to illuminate and shine through the red panel insert. To boost their brightness, I've decided to connect three of these LEDs in series. In addition to upgrading my Ender 3, I've also ordered new switches for my CR-10 printer, which already features an LED on its board as a backup light source. On a whim, I picked up a cheap LED light at the dollar store that contains three brighter LEDs. If this upgrade proves successful, I'll consider implementing it next on the Z axis and possibly even the Y axis.
