Ender 3 - X axis motor mount rear plate - No extruder mount
thingiverse
I designed this modification because I wanted to relocate the extruder attached to the top of the frame to the side of the X-axis to improve filament routing. It's based on Creality's open-source files, so dimensions should be accurate. You'll need longer M3 bolts for the brass nut; other hardware is fine since the plate has the same thickness as the stock one. I'm using this thing: 2383009 from Thingiverse to attach my extruder to the back of the top rail. This design could be adapted with some creativity to mount another Z stepper motor for a dual Z setup. However, it hasn't been tested yet, so proceed at your own risk! To achieve optimal results, you may need to run the steppers in series. Printed from PLA for testing purposes, this modification seems pretty solid and everything aligns as expected.
