Ender 3 x-axis cover with floating mini spool (auto leveler friendly)
thingiverse
***** Updated with ver 2.0 ***** You can now print the x-axis cover and the spool holder separately. I believe this results in better-quality prints. Please print with supports. You will have to superglue the x-axis cover to the spool holder first and then the spool. ------------------- I was exploring ways to conceal the QR code on my Ender 3 v2 X-axis cover. I have a CR touch (bed leveling sensor) connected to the left of my extruder hence the cover needs to be slightly narrow with a larger opening on the right so that the CR touch sensor does not collide (during auto home or before prints). I searched several sites and could not find a perfect one so I designed this. I liked the mini filament spool design here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2300389; so I decided to attach it to the center of the cover with a slight gap between the cover and the mini spool. The filament seems to float in the air. It took several iterations and prints to get it right finally. Check it out!! This x-axis cover is designed to let the CR touch work without issues while the front covers the QR code area completely. Use 2-3 drops of super glue to attach the mini spool to the cover. I hope you like this design. Cheers
