Ender 3 Vibration Damping Feet (Racquet ball)
thingiverse
What we have here is a set of vibration damping feet designed to be used with a standard 56mm diameter Racquet balls. There are many good designs on here , but none ticked all the boxes I wanted so I designed my own.. I decided on the Racquet balls after watching videos of the smaller ,softer squash ball feet and seeing very exaggerated frame sway at the top by the spool holder.Made me nervous about losing a spool mid print...There is also no reduction in contact footprint in this design. Many of the other designs actually reduce the machines contact footprint further reducing stability..And most importantly the stepper motor "sing " that was being transfered to the bench the machine sits on is pretty much gone.. I had it sitting on 2 inch concrete pavers before and this works MUCH better.. Print orientation for the strongest part is as pictured on the print bed. Supports are OPTIONAL .. I didnt use supports in any of the parts I ran while prototyping .. There will be a few stray strands near the 90* point of the sphere without supports (see picture) But the parts are structurally fine and the flaw is hidden anyway so like I said *OPTIONAL*. Parts as pictured are run at .28 layer height .
