Ender 3 V2 BMG Direct Drive with Bl-touch mount
thingiverse
Hi everyone This is my first post and I'm 100% a beginner with CAD. I wanted to add a BMG direct drive extruder to my Ender 3 V2 as well as the Bl-touch by Jkostenov so I could use the custom firmware without editing. I've remixed napfkuchen's BMG direct drive design to fit the Ender 3 V2's x-carriage as the mounting hole for the fan shroud is in a different location when compared to the Ender 3. The Bl-touch has also been added in as the two parts would interfere with each other. My only real contribution has been to design an extremely basic wire post to guide the cables up and relieve strain on the cable that's closest to the fan shroud. Printing Instructions: 1. I sliced using Prusaslicer. There are support blockers on the screw holes for the Bl-touch and the extruder motor. Then, I printed with supports everywhere. It can be extremely difficult removing the supports in the space between the mount and the direct drive adaptor. Use a sharp razor blade to carefully pry underneath it (take care not to cut yourself!). You could probably also adjust the X-Y and Z distance to prevent the supports from fusing to the actual structure. 2. Use the stock metal v-roller spacers that come with your machine. It is a very tight fit. One of the spacers can only go into the mounta and once it's in, there's no way to get it out without breaking the print. 3. I've printed a prototype with PETG but found that it flexed under the torque of the motor, expecially during retractions and deretractions. I hope that PLA resists this motion better. Would love to hear you go with this.
