Ender 3 USB microscope mount
thingiverse
You can hook up a cheap USB microscope to your Ender 3 printer. The idea is that this setup can do several things: 1) Position the microscope precisely and repeat it for accurate results. 2) Level the bed automatically so you don't have to do it manually. 3) Take high-resolution images of large areas by stitching together multiple scans. 4) Automatically check print quality using computer vision technology. 5) Even scan 3D objects at low resolution by only focusing on points in the focal plane. This can be done with an edge filter and moving the head through different z-positions to detect sharp points. 6) You can also print on existing objects if this system works. There's no software yet, but I'm planning to write it soon. For now, though, there are still some issues with moving the Ender 3 printer using its stock firmware. If you have any helpful information, please let me know.
