The Enders i3 was a huge disappointment, because a clean assembly was not possible. This began when the profiles for the Z-Portal from the manufacturer were not cut off at a clean angle. I took these to a workshop where they were carefully machined and the world looked very different afterwards. Next, I had to notice that the base plate with the carriage was also poorly processed and I encountered the famous China Murks again. So, a linear guide with sliders was ordered right away, as the Z-Portal presented itself beautifully after planing. And...... I couldn't resist and decided to machine the base plate again. This printer is from hell, because when I tried to attach the trapezoidal spindle, another problem appeared: The spindle did not fit into the coupling without tensioning it. So, the next Pfusch from the manufacturer emerged, which now screams for adjustments. A Pfusch of the first class, as I discovered a heat sink on the mainboard that cannot fulfill its function at all, as it floats about 1mm above the part to be cooled.... In the end, almost everything had to be rebuilt and/or replaced in order to make something that works properly out of it. Which means that a few neatly cut aluminum profiles plus accessories would have been cheaper. The base plate of the Y-axis is now designed so that there are basically 3 different possibilities for attaching the belt drive. And thus, anyone who wants to build this mod can choose what suits them best. Originally, I had planned to use HiWin linear guides. However, since these guides are mounted on aluminum, I decided on linears made of Alu due to thermal expansion. For the attachment of the Stepper X socket, M4 ISO 7380 Linsenschrauben with inner hexagon are provided. Which is not entirely unimportant, as I want to bring the stepper up as little as possible. And because I also need space for the attachment of the stepper towards the top. I ordered the linear guide for the Y-axis from: http://www.alulineartechnik.ch/ Delivery was very fast and the customer service was very friendly, so we will also obtain the linear guides there for our future planned printers under the brand Eigenbau. This part has been printed and tested. This is a design by and for: http://www.machwas-makerspace.ch
