Ender 3 universal electronics rear case ventilated lid
thingiverse
I've added some active cooling for TMC2208s, which can reach scorching temperatures of 150C. During my first test, the heatsinks were sizzling hot, but I had two extra 40mm fans on hand. The pattern is based on a problem I encountered with my extruder breaking during prints and actually failing to function. To address this issue, I designed the enclosure with added structure, which reduces stress on the extruder due to slower speed for outline passes. However, I repurposed the original lid and placed it over the enclosure for dust protection. This design jams into place on my Ender3 without requiring removal of the Y-axis stepper, despite its increased rigidity. Simply unplug the motor's wire for a minute to fit it securely in place.
