Ender 3 stock box cover 2 fans
thingiverse
This is my first upload so bear with me if I do something wrong. I was blown away by the cover design for the Ender 3 control box by madizmo, specifically the MKS Gen_L model, but I wanted to adapt it to fit my stock board location perfectly. Unfortunately, it was designed for a board with drivers on the left side, so I mirrored it to match my setup and added a hole for the end stop to ensure seamless installation. To accommodate the stock fan, I also created two additional slots that perfectly fit its dimensions. The front two holes were slotted to account for any slight misalignment of the sheet metal. After printing and installing this design, I encountered an issue with the fan cover being too tall, causing it to interfere with the Y-axis rollers. To resolve this, I designed a new fan cover that is lower in profile and doesn't extend as far as the original design. For good measure, I peeled off the sticker from the previous design and slapped it on the new cover for added flair. When I upgrade to the MKS Gen_L board in the future, I plan to use an adapter to keep the drivers on the same side as before. As a traditionalist, I prefer having the board sit on metal, which provides stability and a solid foundation for my printer. I'm eagerly waiting for the arrival of Trinamic drivers and Noctua fans to take my printing experience to the next level. EDIT: I've successfully integrated this design with Trinamic drivers, using 90-degree header pins to connect them seamlessly. UPDATE: To further reduce noise levels, I added a new cover design without an integrated grille. This should minimize the chopping sound and provide a more peaceful printing environment. Additionally, I've started blowing my fans out instead of in, which seems to help prevent hot air from being pulled from under the heated bed. Your results may vary, but so far, this tweak has made a noticeable difference.
