I've modified my spool holder to utilize 3 608 bearings, sourced from cheap skateboards or fidget spinners, which significantly reduces resistance on the extruder. The existing nut and upstand from the original spool holder are retained, providing a seamless integration. After thorough testing, this design has proven effective, although occasional instances of excessive movement have been noted, resulting in slight unspooling. To address this issue, I've implemented small strips of cardboard within the bearing slots to introduce a controlled amount of resistance. Currently, I'm working on an upgraded version featuring built-in resistance adjustment - stay tuned for updates.
