Had problems trying to get a smaller master spool onto the original. I navigated to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1738730 for assistance. Beveling the edges and removing approximately 0.25mm from the bottom resolved the issue. My Ender 3 Pro has a slotted nut, so I swapped it with one from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3502973, where an STL file is available. To achieve optimal results, the print needs to be oriented on its longest side. This also minimizes the amount of supports required. Considering adding a raft as the support removal from threads was somewhat difficult. The beveled edges didn't require any additional supports. Initially, I utilized MicroCenter Inland PLA+ but encountered an issue with the center hole not being solid, causing problems when rotating. To address this, I designed and created a small spool insert measuring 54mm x 63mm. To slow down the roll, I placed small pieces of newspaper inside the spool.
