Ender 3 Spool Holder

Ender 3 Spool Holder

thingiverse

This is a remix of a remix. Kudos to rodamyot for the original spool arm design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3502973) and emolan for the remix to allow the use of the stock nut (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3979065). The 'Spool_Dowel.stl' is the unmodified part from emolan's remix included here for completeness. The modifications I've made to these designs are: 1) Convert the horizontal top edge to a 45 degree slope to greatly reducing the amount of support material that must be printed. 2) Remove the "hollow" near the top of the model to give more structural support at the shear point where the arm mounts to the holder. 3) Create a roller cylinder with inner guides to keep it centered around the bearings. Place it on the arm with a guide on the outside of each of the outer bearings. Build Instructions: 0) Purchase a quantity of 3 bearings (Type: 608 ball bearings) 1) Print 1 "Spool Arm.stl" with supports (tree or anchored on model). 2) Print 1 "Roller.stl" WITHOUT supports. 3) Print 3 "Spool_Dowel.stl" WITHOUT supports. 4) Remove supports from "Spool Arm" and install 3 608 bearings using the 3 "Spool Dowels".
