Ender 3 Spool Holder Brace

Ender 3 Spool Holder Brace

Once I added a bearing type roller to my Ender 3 v2, all the associated jerking of the spool on the shaft went away, and I noticed that the bracket still allowed the spool to bounce. The bottom of the bracket is just steel bent 90 degrees with no additional support, so I designed this bracket to serve that purpose. You'll need: 2 x M5x.8x12mm socket head cap screws. (I used Everbilt #82598 from Home Depot) Optional, get four total and two M5x.8 nuts. Remove the original brace, and take the t-nuts off the stock M5x8mm screws. Retain them, you'll use them later. Slide the brace into the back of the stamped steel bracket. Install the M5x12mm screws through the brace and the original bracket, and install the t-nuts. Install the brace back onto your Ender 3, but don't tighten the bolts fully. Only snug them up a bit. The holes in the brace are sized that you should be able to thread the original M5x8mm fasteners into the holes that show in the two outer slots. Tighten these down, but don't overdo it. Alternatively you could use two more of the M5x.8x12mm screws, thread them all the way through and install the nuts.
