Ender 3 spool holder (6200 RS bearing) **FIXED 3/29** (READ INFO)
thingiverse
I only had 6200 RS bearing on hand so i modified the pegs to fit the inner diameter of the bearing. Holder itself may require a bit of shaving down for easy rolling as i haven't tested it yet. (will update after test). Props to mjoaris for the original design and PellCorp for the remix i remixed as i liked the flatter profile for an easier print. **UPDATE** 1/25/22 Printed an had a few hiccups but Ive adjusted the file in a way that it should fix the main error. I failed to account for the wider profile of the bearings so i adjusted length by 2mm so your outer wall of the holder wont snap as mine did. I was also correct in assuming the half circles holding the bearings will have to be shaved down but do to my inexperience in 3-d object editing that has not been fixed (yet) and will either need to be cut or sanded to a flush profile. uploaded images showing the fitment and problems for a better visual. I have a few other things i need to print before i reprint this part with my fix but when i do i will update again and possibly fix the bearing holders. The irony of it all is i edited this for use of these bearing and i am currently using it without any bearings because it still rolls far smoother than the stock. **UPDATE** 3/29/22 Alright so its been a bit but i got a comment recently asking for a fix so ask and you shall receive... two days later when i had the time lol. While untested i have expanded the ends of the midsection spool holder itself to (very very very slightly over) 30mm which is the outside diameter of the 6200 RS ball bearing. This should have fixed every problem that i had before. If someone else tests it before i get the chance please drop a comment and let me know. I had to order more filament to stay on theme with my mods and it'll take a couple of days to do so. I see no reason as to why this wouldn't work so if all goes smoothly this will be my final update **FINAL UPDATE** 3/30/22 Alright just got it tested and fitted and everything works. I had a bit of trouble with clearance when putting the spool over it so if your spools are a tight fit you may need to bore them out a bit. Unfortunately i cannot fix that while keeping the bearing fittings the correct size so its a sacrifice you and i will have to deal with. As the pictures show everything fits together rather nice. i recommend printing the file that contains all the parts together as the altered pegs will also be needed for fitment. That's about it thanks for the comments and the likes. If you want each piece separate i may add that later but for now back to homework. If there are comments i will get around to it eventually and probably not forget. Enjoy :)
