I've encountered difficulties with the filament becoming overly "tight" as it's fed into the extruder. To minimize friction between the spool and the spool holder, I've created a filament holder that employs two bearings - a straightforward and widely available size - on which the spool rests. Since implementing this filament holder, I haven't experienced any problems with filament feeding. I highly recommend printing this design at 25% or higher infill for optimal results.
