Creality Ender 3 Spool Filament Guide Mounts Horizontally on Top Rail The filament spool guide mounts neatly to the top metal rail, adjacent to the spool. By doing so, it eliminates tangled filaments caused by the print extruder head's upward Z-axis movement. I created this solution because limited space precludes side installation. This setup also serves as a convenient spot for my caliper and provides protection for the Z-axis rod via a protective cap/guide. The couple of holes facilitate hanging items or temporarily securing filament threads. To print the Spool Filament Guide, select the scaffold "support" box option. After printing, remove all scaffold plastics using a small flathead screwdriver to ensure proper installation. Installation is straightforward: simply press and slide the guide horizontally into the top metal rail. Be cautious not to hit the Z-axis rod during insertion. Feed filament into the hole or carefully slide it in sideways for smooth operation. Refer to the attached images for setup and usage examples.
