Ender 3 Spool Filament Cylindrical Bearing
thingiverse
I designed this one for my Ender 3 printer using PLA pieces and ABS filament (standard 1.75mm) as axis rollers. I glued the axis to the main piece, and then also glued on the finish rings. It was created with the 31.7 mm pipe that comes with the Ender 3 in mind. Now the spool moves smoothly. A quick turn will make it look like a hand spinner! The lock is based on two other pieces I found on Thingiverse: CR-10S/Ender 2 Filament Spool Holder REMIX (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2666741) and Ender 2 / 3 Spool Nut (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2944665/comments). One of the images will show you how to mount it. I made some improvements: instead of the original lock that holds the spool and roller, I designed a second option. A smaller nut is fixed in the tube and holds the roller in place. The smaller nut allows easy spool placement and removal. To prevent the spool from getting out of the roller, a second 1/4 turn lock attaches to the smaller nut. This new lock speeds up the spool exchange process a bit. This 2nd version of the lock doesn't need any support, but the smaller nut needs some in the flaps.
