Ender 3 Spool Adapter with a knurled interior for even less drag
thingiverse
this is a remix of giladger's 3 piece nut and bolt adapter. That one already helped me out with the spool issues I was having, i.e. the filament was getting tugged into the spool ending up in knots and the extruder slipping. I used this adapter for a while and it is a gamechanger, the extruder can unroll the filament from the spool with minimum effort. However, it was a bit squeaky and I made this remix to minimize the drag between the adapter and the spool post. The knurled interior makes for less contact area between the spool post and the adapter, resulting in much easier unrolling. I might even say it is now in the same ballpark as the ball bearing mods out there. I printed the original one with 0.2 mm layer height and a 0.4mm nozzle, I printed this one with 0.4 mm layer height and a 0.6 mm nozzle, b/c I was in a hurry and they are both fine and work tremendously. The nuts are even interchangable between the coarse 0.6mm nozzle version and the fine version.
