Ender 3 Slim Filament Spool Holder
thingiverse
This design drew inspiration from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2839322, but with a key modification - I increased its size for greater ease of use. The axle is designed to accommodate spools with a hole diameter as small as 20 mm (think Dremel, BioFila, or Grilon) and a width up to 70 mm. I built upon an existing design that had already been thoroughly tested on the Ender 3. To ensure a smooth fit, I recommend printing the Test-Thread first. If everything checks out, you can proceed with the Axle & Nut. If for some reason it doesn't fit perfectly, don't worry - you can tweak the X and Y dimensions without affecting the Z size. Simply test again to confirm the adjustments. And if your printer is well-calibrated, you shouldn't encounter any issues at all. Here's what you need to do: First, print "02_Axle" with 4 walls for stability and 20% infill. Next, use both original nuts to secure the Axle to its metal counterpart. This will keep everything in place and prevent your spool from falling out.
