Ender 3 silent fan cover
thingiverse
This is my custom motherboard fan cover for Ender 3. After testing multiple projects, they consistently increased noise from the fan due to flat surfaces that created an echo effect. My design employs a spherical shape above the fan, allowing outside air to flow smoothly towards the motherboard and significantly reducing noise levels. I've also relocated the air intake to the side, making it less audible for users compared to open-front covers. You can print this cover without supports; while there will be some overhangs inside, they won't compromise durability or usability. It's easy to remove them in post-processing. With my settings, printing takes approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes. In my opinion, this cover provides sufficient airflow to prevent overheating, but I haven't measured the temperature yet. If you're concerned about it, a revised version with a wider air intake is available, requiring supports.
