Ender 3 semi-automatic bed leveling
thingiverse
I adapted the old Ender 2 bed leveling gcode to work with my Ender 3 printer. To use it, save the gcode file to your SD card and run it whenever you need to level your bed. A Benchy STL model is attached as per Thingiverse requirements. Make sure your nozzle is spotless; if not, you won't be able to level correctly. Don't extrude any filament - it's unnecessary and a waste of material in my opinion. First, the gcode heats the bed up to 45 degrees Celsius. This helps prevent deviations caused by metal expansion and contraction with temperature changes. Next, the gcode homes all axes and moves to the first leveling point. Use the paper leveling method to adjust the bed height until it's just right. Once you're done with that point, press the knob to move on to the next one and level again using a sheet of paper as a reference. This process repeats four times for each of the four corner points.
