I was really drawn to the design by Holspeed, but I didn't have any bearings on hand. Fortunately, I had just replaced the roller track bearings in my glass sliding doors, so I used the spare from that project instead. Glass sliding doors typically feature very heavy-duty bearings designed to support the weight of the door. The plastic for the roller is made from Delrin (Polyoxymethylene), a high-quality material known for its durability and resistance to wear. I'm extremely pleased with the outcome, and I believe it's due in part to the quality of the bearing itself. It simply clips into place, making it easy to install and remove if needed. It's worth noting that availability may vary globally, but these bearings seem to be quite common in Australia. In fact, they can be easily found at Bunnings hardware stores among other retailers.
