Ender 3 Roller Filament Guide

Ender 3 Roller Filament Guide

thingiverse

This is a filament guide I created for my Ender 3. Unhappy with the existing options, I decided to design one that would meet my needs, and put an end to the frustrating problem of filament shavings dragging across the aluminum infeed. You can install this guide using the original MK8 Extruder drive feed at half the cost of upgrading to the MK8 Aluminum Extruder drive feed. The filament will not cut into the original Plastic MK8 Extruder as a result. This attachment connects to the Z Axis stepper motor bracket, where the threaded brass nut is located. You can use the original M3x10 mm screws, but I opted for cap screws instead. The wheel assembly requires a M5X20 mm screw, along with a flat washer and lock washer and nut on the wheel side. A drill bit was used to clean out the 3 mm holes in order to insert the screws. The M5 screw will thread into the 5 mm hole without any issues. This guide was printed using PLA at a temperature of 225 degrees, a bed temperature of 60 degrees, and a layer height of .12 with a wall thickness of 1.5 mm. The entire process took about an hour to complete. The side of the guide is where it attaches to the printer for printing purposes.
