Ender 3 Rear Spool Holder (CHEP Redesign)
thingiverse
This bracket is designed for mounting the spool at the rear of an Ender 3. I was inspired by Chuck's design, which this remix is based on, but I wanted to make some modifications. Here are the changes I made: The bracket now extends farther out than before. By flipping the spool holder bracket and increasing its distance from the bed, the spool has about 6mm or 1/4" clearance from the side of the bed without reducing print volume. Additionally, the bracket is positioned 20mm lower to clear the bed more easily. I also mounted the bracket to the side rails instead of the top to avoid interfering with cable chains on Ender 3s. I chose not to alter the factory extruder orientation in this design. Filament flows smoothly into the extruder despite making a 90-degree turn, and I've printed several objects without any issues or snags using this setup. To further ensure reliable filament flow, I created a 90-degree guide that keeps the filament away from the z-axis rod. Both designs have worked flawlessly so far, with no failures or snags detected. Support was not needed in either case.
